Dear friends,
we are happy to invite you to Scirocco Festival, taking place from 7 to 9 August at Wagenburg Lohmühle.
Scirocco is an anti-racist festival with an uncompromising stance in favor of freedom of movement. This year’s edition focuses on the impact of the border system on mental health. Instead of discussing borders only as an abstract political concept, the festival aims to highlight their concrete effects on people’s lives, emotions, and wellbeing.
For three days, Scirocco will bring together activists, artists and people with different experiences of migration and border regimes for a space of exchange, resistance, solidarity and celebration.
Additional to the programme there will also be kenyan soli-food, legal advice, drinks, cocktails, infotables and more 🙂

Refugees in Germany often live in camps or temporary shelters—isolated, under pressure, traumatized. Many are misunderstood: seen as aggressive, depressed, or “difficult to integrate.” They wait. For what? For safety, recognition, for hope. But is this hope there for everyone—or only for a few?
Let’s talk about it: Why is life a psychological roller coaster for so many?
